One of the players has asked for the game to go to 48 hours... I normally don't do this until year 2420, but if the consensus says to slow down, then I will... Whaddddya think? Shocked

Longer turns? Already? I have enough trouble waiting 26 hours. Maybe I'm just not paying enough attention to details but I have to vote no on that one.

I have to say no to extending time between turns. However, I small Ironium bribe could swing my vote. Rolling Eyes

I am rather against slowing down by 2420. I am aware that others may have much more, but I spend abt 15 minutes per turn for a minimum maintenance tasks for fleets and planets.
However if it may have an influence on the quality of the game and more guys are willing to slow down, I guess we should.

We are nearing 2420.

Games usually slow to 48 hours after year 2420. But its up to you!!! I've been emailed with a suggestion of changing it to 36 hours.

Comments please. Rolling Eyes

SH II -turn generation frequency[ 11 votes ]
1. Let's stay with 26 hours 2 / 18%
2. 36 hours should be fine 5 / 45%
3. 48 hours is my choice 1 / 9%
4. None, of the above - I'll give you my own proposition 3 / 27%

How about a little poll? We are talking about year 2420 and on-wards until ... a new poll(?). Well, I do not fully like the idea that majority shall decide, but we need to do something, right?

I am not sure, but hope only Sky Harbour II players can make a vote to this poll. Judging by other private forums, it is so.

Hi all!

For your information:

As you could notice we got 11 votes whilst there are the hostess (Sally) + 8 players who were theoretically entitled to vote Confused . I reported this to Ron and he admitted that this is kind of a bug Surprised which he should send further to the forum software providers .
Concluding, if we are to make a decision we cannot rely on polls even if it is made on our private subforum (like the above poll was) Sad . Furthermore, the above poll cannot be trusted either, but as I understood we stick to 36 hours - the choice of the majority (whoever they were Razz ). I believe Sally had no serious demands on changing that. My assumption that polls on private forums are private were wrong: the polls I tried to vote to on other private forums must have been simply expired - that is why I was not able to do so. I am sorry for misleading you. Uh Oh

Feliks.

Hey all,
I really appreciate everyone submitting turns earlier than the 36 hour wait. I find the long delay time between turns very stressful. It just gives me too long to rethink what I did.
I hope everyone is enjoying this as much as I am.
I never realized when playing against AI how important intelligence is. (yes intelligence is always important, but I mean knowing information about other races) Razz

With the players coming from all parts of the globe it is pretty difficult to get turn generate in reasonable time. Just take a note that when Steve and Passy are waking up, we in Europe and David are going to bed, while you and Seth are taking you dinner and just clicking Stars! icon on your desktops (you have it on your desktop, right?). So recheck your fleets, planet's queue, check other's fleets size and departure points and deduct who they are and where their HW is, send a nice e-mail to Nexus One and relax Smile. We plot against you when you sleep and there is nothing you can do about it Twisted Evil. You and Seth plot against us when we are sleep (that why I am having nightmares recently Wink ). Steve and Passy plot against us all when we sleep or are awake. Rolling Eyes

Geez, weekends are that only time that I can sit down ad actually focus on the game for more than 10 minutes at a time. But if people are going to be missing turns every weekend it would probably make a better game if we didn't force generate on the weekends.

You guys tell me how to give you weekends free and I'll be glad to do it.

Just name your schedule. Crazy

Please don't tell me every 36 hours and weekends free, because I can't do that - unless you want a schedule like Sky Harbor 3 has.

48hrs? Hmmm, I took advantage of it this weekend, but certainly could have submitted on time if needed to. I would prefer not to go to this schedual permenatly.
(If however I must, I will target Twisted Evil the requester next and get us back on schedual)
Very Happy Just kidden, whatever we have to do, to prevent folks from missing turns is OK with me.

It just had me confused. I checked the sky2 page and it said 33 hours and I thought I missed a turn becuase I knew I hadn't submitted 3 hours earlier. Laughing

Happy St. Patrick's Day Very Happy

Few people wore green today but me - and nobody ever heard of the "i can pinch you if you didn't wear green" rule here in Holland.

I didn't see a green beer anywhere either Shocked

My boss is Irish and hadn't heard of the punishments for failure to wear green... wonder if it was just in my town in America???
Hmmmmmm, now i wonder.... Crazy

Anyhow, I set the clock to 48 hours for the weekend, to give James an entire "workday" to turn in - but he didn't, so I guess that was for not Sad -

So do you have a schedule for me or is the 36 hours okay???

Hi guys,

I do not want to sound boring, but how about slowing down, say 48hrs? Some players are missing turns, I myseft find it diffuclt to turn in on time from time to time.
Come on, are we going to beat world's record and have 36hrs until 2845 ? Wink

Regarsd,
Feliks.
