Ahum, Ron, is it possible or would it be a wise idea to implement an "unload" option for your turn? [stupid grin] (no smiley for that??)

The last few days I've uploaded twice the wrong turn for the wrong game ... Confused Embarassed (or wrong turn, right game?) Meaning that my turn was "in" and that the game would gen maybe even before I could get the right orders uploaded ... Sad

Just a semi-serious question ...

regards,
mch

Yup, I did it too just 2 turns ago in a game. Problem was the turn file that I uploaded was no way near to completion. And I was the last person to upload so the game genned Shocked Found out about the screwup 3 mins later by email notification.

However, no way your idea would have fixed this problem Embarassed

Try my AutoHostClient program. There's an upload button for each game you have set up, so it's much harder to upload the wrong game. And it's MUCH faster and easier to do uploads once things are set up. The program is still a bit rough - setting a game up can be a bit of a chore and it's slow - but I am working on improving things as I have time. I'd love feedback from a user such as yourself.

You can find it here: http://autohostclient.sourceforge.net/

PLEASE read the FAQ - it contains vital help in getting games set up. FAQ is here: http://autohostclient.sourceforge.net/faq.html.

<edit>Oops. Use the "SourceForge site" link to get to the download, however note in the Instruction section that you need JRE 1.4 before you can run this. Links to that provided.</edit>

You can also set your upload passowrd to something that has to do with the game and the race so if your in game 'abc' and you use upload password def2, then in would work. that would alert you that you were in the wrong game.

True, using that in team game (as others do to Wink ), team members have similar but slightly different upload passwords to prevent uploading the turn of a team mates instead of their own. Grin (Also happened to me before. Embarassed )
But I don't like having too much PW to remember so solo games tend to have the same ...
