Gentlemen,

I have exchanged a few PMs with LittleEddie and Iztok, and it looks like we have a solution.
LittleEddie has agreed to host the game (instead of playing it). This would now mean we have one more slot free, and the new entrant may take Eddie's pick of SD, or choose from all remaining PRTs (which, at the moment, are SD, HE and CA).
The first interested candidate to post here (together with his PRT choice) can take the spot and start preparing his race. I'd say he should get one-two weeks for playtesting, then he should send the racefile to Iztok for verification. Once that's done, Iztok or LittleEddie will do the setup (they can arrange that between them) and the game, hosted by LittleEddie, can start - I expect February to see us rolling already.

Comments / additions / objections, anyone?

Too bad Little Eddie had to give up place but glad the problem solved. If replacement does not like SD, HE, or CA they could choose JOAT as well. In that case I would take SD. I have a race ready just in case.

I did agree to make the game set-up. I'll try to make a fair one (evenly spread-out players and no HW with only 10 stars within 2 W-9 jumps). No promises with minerals tho. Razz

So, gentlebeings, you have 6 days to send me your final races. I expect them until the end of the next week, so I'll have time over the weekend to find a proper uni "seed" for the game, and send files to Ron around 18th of this month.

Is this OK with you?

BTW I can host the game until the end of February, but then my RL workload will significantly increase, and I'd rather turn over my hosting to someone else.

This means you please keep looking for replacement host, because I can not guarantee I'll be a carefull host starting February.
Consequently LittleEddie can play, if he wishes so.

OR, just ask for longer game start delay, to find LittleEddie's replacement.

I would rather keep your schedule. As long as you are doing universe setup I have no problems with a possible playing host. What ever is decided is fine by me.

Please consider second JOAT race sent as final. If it needs to be resent please let me know.

Gentlebeings, I had to gen some 50 universes and quick-scan some 400 game files to find a uni that looked fair to me. The "game gen" file is ready to be sent to Ron. Smile

Before I do that, please post a message here you're stil commited to the game, so there'll not be any unpleasant surprises with missing players at the very game start. Look at this demand as a first one from your game host.

Player Kicks claims to have problems accessing AH. Will try to resolve the issue while waiting for Ron to put game on AH.

Loucipher already provided the link but would like to add that SAH will be sending you a password via email when then game is setup. You will need that to upload/download your turn file. After all turns are in the host will remove the game hold and away we go.

Not sure if we are using fixed or dynamic turn generation but if we are using dynamic turn gen then when all turns are in it will generate the next turn and start the clock(currently 26 hours). If this is the case and you are the last player to submit then you should try to do a double turn to keep early game flowing as fast as possible.

Once I wrote a small introduction for beginner games, perhaps it is of help:
up-/downloading orders - Stars files - Stars shortcut

At that time the gamename was "admiral", so if I refer to this in the description just exchange it with whatever approbiate
