I just upgraded my Stars! system to Windows 10, here's the details.

My understanding as of today (23 June 2015) is that if you join the 'Windows Insider Program' and download and run Win 10 as a beta tester, you don't have to do anything really, that you will have a good version of Win 10 come the end of July.

I am currently running Win 8.1 Pro 64bit on my main computer and will be upgrading to Win 10 Pro (64). But Stars! will not run in the 64 bit environment so I'm...

Using Hyper-V Virtual Manager (build into Pro) to run the 'Windows 10 Insider Preview (x86) - Build 10130'

I've only been running it for a day but it appears to be running everything OK,

I'm using,
AutoHost Client v2.11 (Java installed OK).
DropBox to keep all my Stars! files in sync between my different computers, including from the host to the virtual machine as I run my spreadsheets in the host computer.

more later

Thanks for the update. Good to know stars will still work, with our workarounds Smile

Btw, while you don't have to do anything to switch from a beta tester to a retail user, I think your comp will still download update patches in the background. So if you are bothered about bandwidth, it's something to note.
If not, then yea.. it is supposed to be a seamless moveover from beta to retail (assuming you have a legit license for a previous version of Windows).

I know my minefields.. but I'm a chaff sweeper.
I used to curse when I got stuck in traffic... till I realised I AM traffic.
