Random idea, has anybody tried to run Stars! On a ipad or other pad like devise?
Obviously they have enough computing power, just not sure on the touch screen interface or the OS issues

Yes it works fine.
I often load my turns on my tablet to look through them. I tend to still play over a remote login to a headless VM in a data centre though.
For smaller games the Nexus7 is a great device, although the WIMP centric nature of the Stars! code doesn't lend itself to tablet play (but a USB mouse and keyboard turn a tablet into a laptop)
The one thing I'd like to be able to do is hide the "navigation bar", as it obscures the status bar of the Stars! window.
