I think the game will not be up and running before mid-August. Given the holiday season, most folks will be away on vacation anyway.

My apologies as I did not read the past discussion. I will create the files and get them approved.
And should it be a sparse medium universe with single player?

Medium normal universe stretched to sparse density.
So it is going to be streteched to large? What is the new shape? Are players HW's going to be moved?
As far as pre-qualification. What was the final requirements in regards to game paramaters?
My understanding (and as I'll be doing the stretching it's probably important to check) is that it will be a linear stretch. If desired I could probably make a circle, or any other shape (although that will likely take a little bit of testing).
1200ly -> about 1500ly probably (not checked the numbers)
Any coordinate would then be int(5/4) of it's original.
Yes, Linear, so however the map comes out it will just be stretched outward, moving HWs and such should not be needed.
unless you want to get creative and make an octagon. j/k

I have to admit that my usual AR races don't seem to work well in this sparse universe... Those distances are causing major problems! And of course, the luck of the draw on worlds nearby is a huge factor in testing.
I have been testing in a medium sparse universe - from the comments, it is closest to the final stretched version.
Similar experiences?

Observations:
1. To achieve a 20k resource number with semi optimized planets and starbase (@100% each), 364k pop = 740 resources - 27 planets required.
2. In 50 yrs, to get from ~100k starting pop to ~10M (364k x 27), it requires a minimum of 9.2% growth rate.
3. This does not take into account different starbases
4. This is a theoretical maximum - growth rates in real universes will need to be higher. Double?

Yes the Sparse uni can cause havoc on growth
thats why i put it in there. shake things up.
some have played AR, anybody can read the AR sub, but has anybody done real play in a sparse? probably not
If this is proving to difficult we can probably do something like half? since the map is being stretched it probably can be stretched a bit less? I want the game to be fun, not a chore, so let me know

I think sparse is playable and will certainly be a different challenge. Personally, I have not found a way to get to 20k by 2450 and tried at least 10 different designs. I have had several that are on the hockey stick ramp and would get to 20k not too long after 2450...
Seeing as I am getting a bit glassy eyed with all of the pre-testing, I think I am at least ready to make a decision on which one to use. And my apologies if I am not enough competition to others to at least make it interesting.
