It really depends on whether your race builds factories, has total terra, your max growth rate, pop efficiency, and whether the planets in question are under threat or in the backfield.

The articles below cover terra and queue suggestions (as well as your previous question about population hold points). I highly recommend them. You might think of them as part of the stars! bible; learn it, live it, take it out for a nice steak dinner and tell it that you think it is special. Smirk

Let me know if you need any clarification or explanation of the points covered. Thumbsup 2

Best of luck.

well some of my yellows are far from the enemy and near the southwest corner southwest of my HW and west of my secondary HW but there's one big yellow one east by southeast of my main HW and is like 279Ly away (i think.) i assume big yellows mean it needs more terraforming than the small ones??

although i have things to do, ill check it out when i can Smile ty

The larger the yellow (assuming you have planet value view selected) indicates how well you can improve it with terraforming, so larger is better. If you are not AR planets with 5% or worse value can have 5% your HW max capacity providing res normally, e.g. (with OBRM and not HE) 55,000 pop. This includes yellows and reds. You can run them up to 15% and still get resources from colonists, but everything over 5% only produces half their normal res. You can also operate facts, mines, and defenses up to 5% HW max pop.

With greens, I use an auto queue of up to 500 facts and up to 500 mines. When the green has more than 200 resources I put a max terra 1% at the top of the queue. When the green has over 500 res, I change the max terra to 5% at the top of the queue.

For yellows at -3% or better I am likely to start terra once they are producing at least 50 res. If the yellows have worse than -3% value I try to wait until they are producing more than 100 res. This assumes my race build facts and doesn't have the TT LRT.
