Nope sorry, I'm the last one because I can't currently access my virtual machine to get the race file. Sorry about the hold-up guys :/

Guys I'm really sorry but I may have to sit this one out. Hyper-v is a totally different beast to Windows Virtual PC and I'm currently unable to either connect the virtual machine to the internet or access a USB device from it. I don't want to hold anyone up, so please continue with the setup process and if anything changes I'll let you know.

could you capture your race paramitters and mail them to the host? who can then in theory put them into a file?
the set up time may allow you to come online ??

Drat!

Don't worry, though, I'll put you one the list for the next game.

dlrichert has submitted a race file (as the first alternate player).

I will begin creating the universe now. Remapping and searching for a balanced map takes time, and I am at a work conference this week, so it might take a day or two.

Unfortunately even if I did this I wouldn't be able to get the game files to and from the virtual pc each turn. Currently it exists as a completely isolated system. For some reason they're removed the option to link USB drives to the virtual PC in Hyper-V and for some reason whenever I try to set up a virtual switch to use the internet, both my actual PC and my virtual one lose connection.

I'll keep working on it, and hopefully figure it out before the next game comes around.

Wasn't there a way to share files between the VM and the Host system? Some kind of virtual folder or something? Sherlock

...and then everything went to heck. Lost most of my internet access at the conference, missed my return flight home (my fault, mostly), surprise guests at home last night so no time to catch up on Stars, and now I finally have a chance to catch my breath.

So, bear with me. I've finished everything I can, other than that one player has a corrupt race file. I have emailed that player. Once I have a working race file, I should be able to ship the files to Ron in less than an hour.

Game coming soon. We hope.

Game files submitted to SAH. You should all receive an email with your SAH password when the game is created in SAH. At that point you can download your .m file, play your turn, and upload your .x file. When all .x files are in for the first turn, I will take the game off of hold.

Remember, all, that this is a no-comms game. I'm your host, so send me an email or pm if you have any in-game questions or need to request a hold.

Thanks, all, and have fun!

Almost 2 days now.
Skoormit, have you been in touch with the 6th player recently?

Either your email id is incorrect in the game page (or missing).. or you have a few emails in your spam folder...

Just to make sure, can you send your current email id to skoormit again>

Fun though?

I need to catch up with that game actually... Hmm, if only game 2 would give me time.

Oh, and real life of course. That has been more than hectic recently.

There seems to be a RL break in force currently, but I hope it ends soon. After that, the game sure could use a change of schedule.

Please do not post about the game in this thread. Any post can inadvertently give information to the other players.

Case: Slowdown to 75hrs in ATSR 2.

My vote: yes.

All players that participating in ATSR 2 are asked to vote.

A public vote is inappropriate for a no-comms game.

In this case, I'm fine with it. (Re:Atsr2 slowdown vote).
We could do it via group email or here, as long as game specifics aren't discussed.

A discussion here is fine as a permanent slowdown has been requested a number of times, by various players, contrary to the original rules. As a player, I would say suck it up... but as a host, I have to be far more accommodating to RL life issues.

If anyone tries figuring out how big an enemy empire based on the vote, that's really speculative.
Take me for eg.. I could be number 1, but I still hate a slowdown as it breaks my rhythm. On the other hand, I could be struggling for time and I would like a breather.. or I could be simply indifferent.

ATSR2 (as player): RL trumps game play. Whoever needs the slowdown this time it might be you next time.
I can't believe I'm saying that again Wink Just to complete the broken record imitation - this game isn't called remorseless (and even that game slowed down IIRC)

ATSR1 (as host): I have attempted to contact the players who have missed turns - no further communication will be entered into publicly (I also need to go and check their game positions)
