Hi Guys,

Welcome to the game creation email.

I'm going to suggest a slightly different way of creating the universe, instead of the regular "let the host generate the universe".
(I'll keep that option as a standby Wink )

What I had in mind was this:
Each of you will select a 2 digit number and send it only to me.
I'll then use the numbers (in the game player order) as the seed number and generate the universe.
What this means is that the universe will actually have been selected by the players and the host will have no influence / hand in the universe selection Very Happy

The universe will be safe and secret, as you'll require all 6 players to reveal their selection to recreate it.

Of course, if this 'experiment' doesn't work out.. we get a crappy universe with lousy minerals or the positioning makes 4/6 players very unhappy, we can always rethink it and go with one of the universes that I generate and select.

It's just a few extra hours on a decision that will influence your game for the next few months... Smile

Also, can each of you tell me your timezones and general times you will reply to mails.

That is a really cool idea. I would like to try it, but not so sure for this game. Some seeds really throw off distribution. I don't mind bad minerals, because that hurts everyone. Lets try it, and if any one objects we scrap it. I would be happy if it required unanimous consent.

If you don't get a number from them assign a random number, or use part of their last time stamp as a default number.

All gen numbers have been selected, so the universe is ready ... Just need to add the last race and will send over the individual .m files to all players.

I've seen the distribution and it seems pretty interesting, taking into consideration all the PRTs and race traits.

 I'm waiting on one player to confirm a few finer points of his race.

I'm giving him 12 hours or till Ron puts the game up (whichever is sooner).
I'll send out the game files to all players (in 12 hours) any which way.
(There will be no effect to the universe, no matter what the player decides)

Having pre-scouted the whole universe for all 6 races, it's looking like a fantastic universe ...

Just one small word to the players:
First looks can be very deceiving.
Just remember, no matter how happy or unhappy you are with your starting position, EVERYONE has at least one decent green within 2 W9 jumps... no matter how bad your start might feel (or how exotic your initial habs might be!).
