I am willing to check races - if this is acceptable, send race files to mardukgkob at gmail dot com

We have a few stragglers getting their racefile in (including me). So let's set a deadline for Monday.

This Monday is the deadline to get your racefile in.

Thanks,

One more race in and checked, bringing us to five. The remaining players are: (slackers, but I mean the names...)

ManicLurch
Magister Ludi
jennyhotchic

Edit: If I may point out, it is currently Tuesday for me. Hours yet to go before Monday passes entirely from the world, but even by that measure time is running out if this Monday is a deadline.

I'm willing to submit race files for the players that are still out, if they're having trouble.

Well still no word from the 2 players who still haven't submitted their race files. We can't wait around. If anyone else wants to play, just submit a race file and let me know that you have done so. The next 2 race files submitted are in the game.

Thanks,

ManicLurch:

With some of this checking requiring access to the turn files, it seems inappropriate for a playing host. I am willing to host the game as well as check the racefiles. I wouldn't be able to check every turn before the next one is submitted during the five-turns-a-week portion of the game, but they would all be checked eventually and I shouldn't ever be more than one day behind.

Though I do have a question about the "no pop-dropping allies for tech trading"; is occasional pop-dropping for actual transfer of planets acceptable, even if there is the risk of tech transfer? If so, I would be recording which planets were transferred that way, and any attempt to transfer them back would be construed as an attempt at tech trading.

In previous SAS games it worked this way:
That if you want to give a planet for someone, you must fisrt lift all population. And then someone must colonize.
Actually it was the same with taking planets from enemies, you had to first kill all the population, then colonize
Is it gonna be the same here ?

edit:
I just realized that it was rule for Galcier game, not SAS Smile. But stil it's a fine rule, especially with allies.

New Shocked I don't know now, I may have to change my race file if there's no jenny-hot-chic in the game Shocked 3

If you have submitted your racefile, then you are in. One more slot available in this game to the next racefile submitted.

Yes, that is the case for this game. No pop dropping your ally, even if it is for the purpose of trading planets. The whole theme of this game is related to tech, this could give an alliance an unfair advantage.

The only way to gain tech from someone else is legitimate battle with your enemies. You can send observer ships to legitimate battles however.

If you are willing to do this, then yes I would appreciate it if you would host. I have played in many games that I have hosted and when an issue came up, I would get a 3rd party to make a ruling, or all the players would vote.

This is a little easier. One reason I host is so I can get in games that I am interested in Very Happy

Ok. But still you didnt answer if popdroping of enemy is possible ?
Or do we need to first kill all colonists ?

There's nothing in the rules that would suggest this, and frankly it would be really annoying.

And fun! Unless you're an AR race, then I guess you just burn up entering the atmosphere.

Mark Hewitt has submitted a valid race. Seven races entered now. Bets on which gets in first, jennyhotchic, Magister Ludi, or an as yet unnamed new contender?

That's why AR uses bombs to get rid of those pesky colonists so they can bring in the robot miners.

Of course, it could have been designed that AR can bring in the robot miners *before* everyone's dead.... >:)

I tweaked my race design and send the updated one to Marduk for checking. If it's okay, I'd like to go with this replacement. Smile

It is valid, and as long as we are still waiting you can switch your race around.

Well we are a week past the racefile deadline and still missing a player. Do we want to continue with 7 players? Please do a quick yes or no vote. Majority rule on this.
