Worm Holes are not a random event

They are.

Random events consist of:
* meteors (hitting planets spreading minerals, killing pop, razing buildings possbily raising mineral concentration, altering hab)
* finding research point when colonizing a planet the first time
* MT
* wormholes (in a small game there are always 3, not sure about other sizes)

Okay, we will keep random events on, no PPS.

nmid, aprahanti, and ssampson88 can we get an update as to when your race files will be ready? We're looking to gen the game this weekend.

Do you have any documentation on that?

I can't find any

Edit: nevermind, I ran some testbeds and no Wormholes with No Random events checked

Guys, I'm sorry, but I am going to have to bow out of this game. I will be out of town for most of June with a laptop that I've been unable to get Stars to play on.

A 64 bit machine? If yes, I could help you get stars working on it within 30 mins..

We could put the game on hold in june for a month .. works for me too Very Happy.

I will keep trying to figure out how to get Stars working on my laptop (Windows 7 - Home) in case no replacement shows up. (Unfortunately, I am somewhat computer illiterate)

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/virtualbox/ downloads/index.html

install the virtual box.

After that, install winxp.

Do note that the win7-home version lets you run virtualPc, it just doesn't have winxp pre-built into it. You have to install that yourself... which isn't too hard, really.
I just prefer the oracle VM. (virtual box, link above).

I had also sent you a pm, but that often gets hidden in very small text on the top of this page... check the links on the top right.

OK - it looks like I will be able to play, thanks to the tech expertise of nmid! I'll have a race file sent in the next 24 hours.

Great, I've got you back on the list aprahanti. I'm using VirtualBox myself to play stars.

Great, I believe we're just waiting on ssampson88 then. We're targeting to gen this weekend so if anyone wants to be a standby in case he doesn't come through put your name into the ring!

Yes, I have them all now and will generate the game and send the files to Ron tomorrow - Friday.

Just a final check, as identifying e-mails addresses against player name is not always easy: aprahanti - are you the "swamp"?

Just a quick update - I have checked all but one race file and genned the universe file. Unfortunately, I do not have a password for one player. I have sent them a message and as soon as I get the password it will be good to go.

Update to the update - now have the password and all is on target.

And another update: I have just sent out the .xy file to everyone and a second e-mail to each player with their .M file.

If you didn't get these e-mails or cannot open your M file (I've sent you someone elses!) let me know and I will sort it.

Thanks for the efforts BK. Much appreciated.

Guys, do we need a private sub-forum? I think with just the 6 of us, we can do with chain mass emails...

See you in game.

Looks like we've genned, FYI it was with no random events, no PPS. I'm indifferent re forum vs. emails. It's a small, simple game so there probably won't be much group chatter.

If you didn't catch it my email is ksmith3921 \at\ gmail.com

For anyone a bit rusty on using autohost I wrote a short guide in the To The Max new game announcement thread. Look on the second page about two thirds of the way down. This covers uploading and downloading etc.
You should find it here: http://starsautohost.org/sahforum/index.php?t=msg&th=501 2&start=25&rid=1162&S=0777ba99fd1ae9725c87d5a151 0144b7

I didn't know you could have your own private forum so I was only expecting email. That must be a good feature for large games.

And thanks for doing the setup BeeKeeper.

We could ask for a sub forum, but we could also just start a topic called b2b in the bar, and post whatever we want there... Of course everyone could post, but it's going to serve the purpose for those occasional posts that people might want to do.

Email Zindabad for all other matters.
