For those who like rapid development (and scripting languages), I just posted a python decryptor, too:

It's very rudimentary and doesn't decode blocks (except the header)

Thanks to raptor's work the ability to not only decrypt Stars! files but also reset passwords is now complete (OK, 5+ years later).

If your concerned about password security, play on AutoHost or TotalHost where the files are protected.
