I`d like to join.
I`ve some devilisch idea:
To avoid having 5 ITs and 4 CAs in galaxy, every player will have to chose his PRT form 2 (maybe 3) PRTs randomly drawned for him by host.
I would give us wide spectrum od races in this game.

Cieply

I don't think there will be too many IT as Combat pointed out.

Yet I think that the randomly drawned PRT could add an interesting unpredictability

Unfortunately not. The standard CA-monster comes with : TT with bio cheap and rest expensive. With relative narrow habs (at the beginning), the CA can afford superb HP fact/mine settings. The game will last very long, it will be fun and then the CAs will stomp everybody and afterwards fighting it out in between of them.
Might be easiest to just ban CA for this setting.

I tried an HP CA in my first non-abortive multiplayer game. Everyone quit after I had more resources and capships than everyone else put together (and was catching up fast in tech after getting TT 20). It had Weap and Con expensive. So yeah, Altruist is bang on the money here.

(Wouldn't do it again, though. TT CA, to reach its full terrifying potential, needs 1/1000 pop efficiency to clear queues rapidly and thus get resources to spend on Bio. Were I to try again, I'd probably run something like 1/1000 15/9/16 or so.)

That means, that you cannot drop too many colonists to generate additional resources from prop - i think that it should be clearly stated, that it is restriction only to maxed out pop planets.

I'd play, though I assume this thread is dead... I'm mostly responding for the chance that this will prompt someone to host a game. (I've only just come back to the game, so I don't think I should host one yet.)
