This thread should let the Stars! comunity see what the developers are up to. While only Stars! Nova developers should be able to post here, anyone should be able to read what we are up to. If need be you can talk about what we are talking about in the Stars! Nova Open Discussion forum.

I am hoping each of the devs will post a short intro and what they are working on currently in this thread.

I have been working on Nova on and off for a couple of years now. I started with the component editor and went on to converting most of the file formats from binary to xml. Now I am mostly doing admin for the project, adding new members, answering questions and posting updates in HWF.

Have fun.

I've just joined the Nova team as I wanted to start playing stars! but found that now all my machines are Win7 x64 I couldn't. So working on a clone is something I've always liked the idea of and C# makes it soooo much easier.

Having just fixed up some bugs I worked on the Star Map making it easier to zoom in/out and looking a bit nicer (still some work to do here, but it's better)

I'm currently working on inter-fleet cargo transfer, which is going to involve writing a more Stars! like cargo meter with it's multi-colored bars etc.

While not *strictly* a developer proper I've worked on the graphics for Freetars and donated that and made some new pics for Stars! Nova. Still working on some new pics and ship sets and pretty excited about all the development. If anyone has any suggestions and/or questions about the graphics let us know in the open discussion.

Greetings to all. I joined the Nova project back at the end of April when my copy of Stars would not longer work on x64. I had been monitoring the progress of the Nova project for some years, and thought to myself "stop looking and contribute once and for all", so here I am.
Tibdit: The only Stars! games with humans i've played involved a good friend many many years ago and hotseat, so i'm probably pretty terrible at this game Laughing

I'm currently reorganizing the back end data structures because there is a lot of redundant data on the client, and it also uses information that it shouldn't know. Once this is done we can proceed to refactor the behaviour of the server turn generation to a more generic way.

I've been working on Nova on and off, much like Dan. I've been fixing bits and pieces here and there, project admin work and cleaning up old code. There is plenty of clean up and admin work to do, but I'll also try to get a working prototype of a map generator plugin system up and running.

Greetings everyone;

I joined the Stars!Nova project in the spring of 2010.

After making the switch to Mac computers in 2008 I was suffering severe withdrawl from Stars! Wink and was excited that there was a C# Stars! clone being developed that might be able to be run on Mac computers without running a virtual machine.

Since joining the team I have mainly been picking away at small tasks here and there (the majority of which have been focused around the Production Dialog) and highlighting how things are working or not working when installed on a Mac.
