The Bug Report 2465
Bug scientists are working to perfect a device that calls new MTs and arranges for them to arrive in Bug space. The device has already been used twice successfully. A new call has gone out and the next MT is expected in year 2469, starting in Bug space and traveling south.
Random events: In 2463 Tribbles invaded the food supply of the Coda system. Concern heightened when the Tribbles multiplied at an alarming rate and devoured much of the available food. Fortunately a Bug scientist determined that Tribbles are actually edible, so there is no longer a food shortage in that system.
Politics: Castus REX, the new Mycelia leader has completed the consolidation of his empire. Previous diplomatic crews seems to have disappeared into a black hole, while new Ambassadors have arrived with a drastically different diplomatic style. It is also noted that factories seem to have been retooled, many of them now seemingly producing a large supply of minelayers. It has also been confirmed that Castus REX does not eat Bug larvae for breakfast, unlike his predecessor.
Reporters in all areas of the universe report alarming rates of battleship development, from almost every race. Persecution of Alpheus of Lacon (the Vedin B****) seems to be the primary objective.
Charity: The annual fun(d) raiser to feed starving -Rancor- orphans will be held at the Boca Raton system this year. All peace loving races are invited to attend. Food will be provided but please bring your own life support.
Ambassador salaries reached yet another peak across the universe. Recent medical reports have started an exodus of beings from these positions, as it has become apparent that stress related problems and deaths have spiked in the past five years. Colleges are beginning to require stress management classes in their Ambassador degree programs.
