It's great to still see so many active folks discussing Stars!

It's always been a personal goal of mine to develop a 4x game (I've been designing console games professionally for more than 10 years) and if/when that happens it's absolutely Stars! that will form the basis of what I feel a 4x game should be all about.

Anyway, my need to play Stars flares up every year or two, and it's great to see so many folks still at it.

Maybe you could get in contact with Ken Reed and see if there's anything you can do to help him out?

Omnivore's done some work on a generic 4x engine meant to handle various rulesets, traditional Stars! being the main one but also leaving room for other possibilities as well. I don't know if he's still working on it or not as his life is moving chaos even more than mine is.
