In an intergalactic first, the media group HiroNews announced access to a interplanetary communications grid with the purpose of transmitting to primarily Hirotan colonies, but also to any foreign species with technology advanced enough to receive the communications.

This iniative is welcomed by various ministries within the confederacy, and assistance from the Minister of science has assisted HiroNews to communication on multiple languages.

Reports have filtered through of activity near the frontier of the confederacy. LGM1, a world previously unclaimed. However this world became the focus of an increased colonisation effort by the Hirotan government as rumours of another species signalling their intent to colonise this world.

A spokesman of the diplomatic corps confirmed negociations were attempted but failed.

"Both sides in a negociation were willing to make concessions, but neither side wished to surrender this key world...ultimately the deadlock was only broken by a deployment of craft in orbit"

This deployment of several craft comprised of a number of destroyers in an attempt to interdict any efforts to colonise the world. During the deployment of this craft, one non-Hirotan scout was destroyed, although Hirotan defence ministers insist no losses of Hirotan lives.

Luap World NewsWire :
Hundreds of protesters sympathetic to the Old Empire marched on the Capital today. Demanding Luap officals address the habitabilty of colonized worlds.
"We just want a better place to live", "Stop this unnecessary research into weapons advancement, and look after your citizens real concerns" said one protester.
The protesters dispersed after Luap ground troops opened fire, killing 14 and wounding 22 protesters.
Luapian Officials stated afterwards "We sympathize with the citizens concern, and regret the loss of life."
Luap officails will address this issue during next years Senate meeting"

<<!- News Agency -!>>
Foreign Minsters today revealed a new attempt to secure a border agreement with the Nexus. Previous attempts have reduced to border skirmishes, and loss of life of Hirotan colonists.
Much of this reluctance to perpetuate the conflict comes from internal pressure from the increasing anti-war colonial alliance within the Senate.
A message will be sent on behalf of the senate inviting the Nexus to reopen discussions, although added that LGM1 was inviolate and not subject to negociation.
Reports come from within the Nexus government that suggests they expect other species to intervene within this conflict. Although the senate made no mention of these rumours, there is concern on the frontier worlds of the confederacy, and colonists are looking to their own defences if the unthinkable should happen.

Neutral species have been asked to observe the incursions of the Nexus into Hirotan space. They continue to launch attacks into the region, and have begun to extend their raids outside the disputed region.
To date, no Hirotan military craft have been in action in orbit of any Nexus world, and the Hirotan confederacy have been content in holding a defensive front in the hope that the Nexus will see sense, or other species will realise the threat they pose.
Many species have expressed concerns regarding the aggression, and dispite continual attempts by hirotan ambassadors to reopen talks, they have fell upon deaf ears.
