 I disagree with everyone just ganging up on Bukane and nRaverg.

The rules state that each player can have no more than one ally.

Now, if Bukane (and nRav) were declared the winner, and all players want to continue as one alliance to see if those two can be stopped, I have no problem with that.

As I see it, Bukane owns about half the universe, and (especially with the quality of play) will not be stopped according to the current rules of the game. Shall we put the game on hold, and put it to a vote?

1) Do you vote Bukane/nRav the winners?

2) If they are the winners, do you want to change the rules to allow all other players to work together to fight them?

(Sorry, no time to set up a real vote here, need to get on the road)

Regardless of the choices, I think Bukane will finish me off soon anyway...

NO - but I would if needed.

Not just because being winner, but the last 4 threads show that everybody wants to share experiences and thoughts, and nobody insists upon playing on. I wonder who is who... And I like to see the universe from the perspective of other players, now and xx turns ago... Also I am very curious who the number 2 was all the time. Never really figuered it out.

Playing for some time as a replacemnet I got good enough picture on the uni I can cast my vote.

1) Bukane/nRav... won.

2) Game should end.

Yup, seems like now more talking than playing. Smile
Guess everybody is eager to start sharing game details that would make continueing even "impossible".

 So it seems the game is over - I hope everybody got some fun!

Some comments on my race (the Zerg):

Started in a corner with only few planets around, HW is Luigi - check it out and imagine the feeling about that starting position.

At least nobody can say I manipulated the universe to have an advantage Very Happy (Well, or Alter Ego had done for me)

Found 2 close players quickly - assumed to be an easy target and allied the first that offered alliance: the Apples. Good choice with habs, both of us had weap and con cheap - bad luck. My ally had very very bad luck with the planet draw...

We then started to grab a lot of space everywhere with blocking planets with minelayers - successfull against the Vincibles, tried 2 attacks on the "Uranium Cluster" and lost both attacks badly to the the P+P alliance who were ahead in tech and fleets.

Expansion in the south was slow, some battles against the Rzepcz... and finally got some planets, but just slow progress.

Ended up at rank4 and rank7 (Robert Liang, my ally was replaced about 15 turns ago by Iztok when he had too much to do with RL, thanks a lot to Iztok for taking over!) with close to Doomsday tech and DNs.

I am Henk Poell - as Robert already guessed!

You all should have kicked me out of the game in October Smile

Already told the story of how my alliance grew... Around 2410 we were #11 and #12, then slowly but surely started to climb. Around 2455 the "at least 20% more then #2" tick went on and didn't go off anymore. Well if anyone wants to see the current turn:

Also got lots of saves from 2431 on if anyone likes it, but I guess everybody would just love to do something completely different then Stars now... and then come back for another game!!! I'm still wondering who was nr.2, and what MT #3 and #4 would bring BTW. Robert?

My P-Elastica was like Muppeteer suggested.

Purple and Muppeteer were quite good players. Who they were?
It was fun to start here in center when all players play and no one drops out, but not much hope to win the game. Smile

My ally, Plasmatics played by DrDogVet was #5 at end. Earlier he was higher but got quite narrow hab so no capacity to stay at top for long time.

If you guys would be more quiet and wouldn't startle this one too, I'd hit it this turn and could tell. So...

 Great game all. Long and well fought. I am totally surprised Henk is our winner. I thought Henk was the Vincible.
I figured out Robert as the Zerg, thought Misha was the Purple Snakes. Pretty close just picked wrong ally, Muppets instead.

My ally (P-Elastic) was an excellent player. I managed to frustrate him frequently. He was right most of the time. We never really were able to keep a strong attack going. Usually due to excellent moves by our main opponents Muppet/Snake, but also had to take time out and fight off Zerg, Apples, Atari, Vincibles etc. Snakes and I had very similar Hab ranges. He was on my border and was just too tempting not to want to smack him around. Muppets made my life difficult most of the game. At times down right obnoxious.

I liked the rules for this game. Might come up with a way to dump a bad ally and pick a new one. Say give 3 years warning then set old ally to enemy?
I don't care if clumps or no clumps.
I would play again, perhaps in the fall?

My rank started at 4 went up to 2 then slowly dropped to 5. My race has not grown in 15 years or more. We were bottled up pretty well in the NE corner. For a good stretch in the first 30 years my Ally an I were rank 1,2. Lot's of borders to cover and other concerns. Still I think we should have would have could have done better than we did. There's always next time.

Laughing If you see with what we had to fight you! A -f in a slow tech game and A HP crippled by bad play and a too early war ... that combined with no cheap weapons! Fun! Very Happy

Really, we had to use about every trick in our bag, lesser players would have been squashed by PP-e much sooner ... (hope that doesn't sound to self-something) We were fighting an opponent who had weapons of the next era _and_ had an advantage in number of ships.
