I'm really bad at keeping up with forums. Especially, especially if they don't email me to nag that I have new posts to read.

Probably not the right place to ask, but is there a way I can have the forum email me when I get a new private message? Sad

I don't think so, that's why I just leave a window up on this forum and reload it when I want to check up on it. The PM notifications show up at the top of the page.. Sadly, I don't know anyother way to notice them. Maybe someone else might though. Confused

Hehe.. Since I'm not accepting turns I'll update this post as much as I'm allowed to, so there's a unified notification of how many players I've got submitted.
--------Name------------Submitted--------
Player1=Captain Maim__= Yes
Player2=Faithful______= Yes
Player3=Cerindil______= No
Player4=c64k__________= Yes
Player5=yoey__________= No
Player6=ADG_Wraith____= No
Player7=Woody_________= No
Player8=miklem________= Yes
Player9=lord_of_chaos_= Yes

For convienence sake, is it okay at this time if I just mass emailed everyone a single packet with all the turns in it? They should be passworded so only your turns will be accessable (if they aren't passworded it's not my fault.) This would save me the trouble of using the PM system, though I can if that is preferable to you.

I'm missing email addresses for: ADG_Wraith, and Woody
If you'd like to send me those so I can stream line turn sending I'd appretiate it. Smile

I'm not in your game but just want to note that there *is* a version out there that can open passworded turns ... hence the password protection on downloading turns ...

I know it's more work to send out one turn per mail/PM, but when I'm hosting a game that's included in the service. Wink (obviously .xy file can go to all)

Sending out that first turn is not absolutely necessary since it will be available for download once the page comes up. (it's a nice gesture though, gives people something to stare at for a few days until the page comes up Very Happy )

Yess. We like staring at first turn. Good time to start global strategy and chronicle of the game Smile

Besides which, even seeing the other people's turn file sizes can yield information such as who is expanding fastest and who as the best scanners (probably not important in a beginner game, and not in the first turn).

I'd never thought of that - I'll remember it next time I host. I wouldn't want to get caught in the trap of sending out lots of turns with 'just one more' though.

Oh, and although my part in setting up this game is done, feel free to contact me if there are game problems that need an outsider to look at things. I'll send Captain Maim my 'real' email address.

Have ya'all asked for a forum? Because this is no longer a new game announcement..

Ron will set one up for you, and give you your own special password to post with... just ask him, he'll be back on Sunday.

I was afraid the password bypass exec was going to come into this. (Don't have one myself.) Also, the turn file sizes, yes, I thought of that one too.

Does AH also require a password to download files now? Seems like it probably would now that turns can be seen

Yes.. Ron will email the passwords to you individually when he sends you notification that your game has begun on Autohost.

Its usually a hard one to remember - the host can change it for you in the Host Utility once the game has begun. I think its no more than 5 characters.. but it can be a word, or number.. or a combination of both - whatever you prefer Nod

I'd prefer to wait for the game page to be up before getting into the game. BTW, my email is misiopurewarrior@hotmail.com

I sent the game off to Ron. So that's that I guess.
