Soon as Madman gives me the race files.

Which will transpire when all players agree they are ready.

In the mean time, map size is medium or large? I kinda like Large... It's roomier. But Medium's nice too.

For all intensive purposes I'm ready to go. I'm just waiting on the other players. Looks like it's 8 people? Maybe 10? Or so I understand.

I am ready to go, medium is fine for me.
Large will be a lot more MM, which might be too much for a starting player.

Don't make the first game too long-lasting or Stars! might loose potential addicts. Wink

Woot! wOOt 1 I've got a 9th player too, he's almost ready. I've told him to post here, and to PM Madman with his race.

I'm glad that things are just about ready to get started!

Hmmm.. You make an excellent point Woody.. Alright, Medium it is. No biggy.

I've been set a race by Faithful. I suggest that he/she gets the chance to tinker with the race a little, as that's an opportunity everyone else has had, and that I accept no more players.

Repost of the people who have submitted races:

1. Cerindil (finalized)
2. Captain Maim (finalized)
3. miklem (finalized)
4. yoey (finalized)
5. Woody (finalized)
6. c64 (finalized)
7. ADG_Wraith
8. lord_of_chaos (finalized)
9. Faithful

The (finalized) comment doesn't mean people can't make late changes - it's just a guess from the correspondence that those people are pretty happy with what they have, and are unlikely to make further changes.

What I'll do is email/PM the races back toy you at the same time I send them to Captain Maim - that way you can double check that I have in fact got the right race.

Could that be left until the game files are submitted? This is a useful place to post status updates.

Besides, not allowing any more players is just a suggestion - Captaim Maim is the one hosting, I'm just checking racefiles.

Dense should be enough.

I've been a little distracted - I'll send the race files in the next day (although from there the game has to be sent to Ron, so that will be a few more days).

Unless anyone sends a really quick change, I'mm assuming all races are final.

Anyone have a problem with me accepting a few turns over email before getting up on AH. (turn length is "Until all players are in") In that case you'd just email me your turns and vise versa.

Last time it only took about 2-3 days for the game to getup on AH.

At which point I think I'll run a 24 hour turn length with early gen if all turns are in. Upto I think about year 20 (my other thought was year 25.) After that it'll be 24 hour gen without early gen if everyone's in. (Unles there's some objection to this.)

I'll lengthen gen times after year 50 if micro managing or real life starts digging into someone. My thoughts on that was to set it to A) 36 hours B) 48 hours, C) Weekdays on and weekends off (or varient) D) a more uniformly accomidating time schedual based on players needs.

You mean that after you sent the files to Ron you start to host a few turns yourself while waiting for the game page to be ready? That has no use since the files Ron receives would be outdated and you have to sent him the current (manualy hosted) turn again ... (and wait again)

DANG IT! I knew I did something sorta like that first time... Ugh... Okay, so clearly that wasn't it. Alright. Scratch that. I forgot, the waiting isn't until I send to RON, it's AFTER I send to Ron... Crazy

Hmmm... I suppose I just emailed the first turns so people could feel okay about what little they had.. I dunno... It's been...A long time, I just.... OHHH!!!! I REMEMBER NOW! I was doing a game that required some setup! That's why I recall doing some turns. I had the players do some turns while I got some special features setup in the game, and I sent it to Ron when I was all finished. Okay... Normal game, no features, Hmmm... I'll just email the first turns out. Make sure everyone's happy with the mineral concentrations. I suppose that's nice enough. I got some messages expressing concern about minimum MC on the HW.

I'm really bad at keeping up with forums. Especially, especially if they don't email me to nag that I have new posts to read.

Probably not the right place to ask, but is there a way I can have the forum email me when I get a new private message? Sad
