Hi all!

I would like to create a timezone map of us - just to know when to expect a possible turn submission for a specific player. Here is what I think I figured out about the timezones:

1. Feliks - GMT+1
2. James - GMT+0
3. David - GMT+2
4. Steve - GMT+9 or 10 Confused
5. MG - GMT+1
6. Paul - GMT-7
7. Seth - GMT-7
8. Passy - GMT+8

Winter time is used.
Please let me know if the above is not correct.

In Europe, North America and North Asia there are 2 different "times": Summer (artificial) and Winter (natural). In March we add up one hour, so in Poland, for example, we have GMT+2 until about end of October - it is called Summer time or DST (Daylight Saving Time - that explains the reason).
Therefore from abt end of March MG and me fall into GMT+2 zone, Seth and Paul into GMT-6 (well, that I not not 100% sure Rolling Eyes ) while James will be in GMT+1. I guess the rest is not affected.

Actually, I live in Arizona and we don't change time here. It's always -7. I'm in PA for the next few days which is -5 right now. Sorry about the delay in turning my turn in yesterday I was in transit.

Yes, you are right. On http://www.energy.ca.gov I found out that Arizona is one of few US states where DST is not in use.

I am still wondering how about Steve. In Australia, there are 3 time zones: +9,+10 and ... +9,5 Shocked . It quite weird I guess to have 30 minutes difference to other guys living in the same country.

Yes in Australia we have quite a few time zones especially when daylight saving comes about.
Western Australia is 2 or 3 hours behind the Eastern states.
When we have daylight saving New South Wales and Victoria are one hour in front of Queensland (Queenslanders don't seem to like the concept).
As mentioned we do have ½ hour time differences too. Razz

So, to summarize:

We can distinguish 3 groups, timezone-wise.

East:
Steve: GMT +10 (DST: GMT +11)
Passy: GMT +8

Mid:
David : GMT +2
___MG : GMT +1 (DST: GMT +2)
Feliks: GMT +1 (DST: GMT +2)
James : GMT +1 (DST: GMT +1)

West:
Paul: GMT -7 (DST: GMT -6)
Seth: GMT -7

and Sally the hostess: GMT+1 (DST: GMT +2)

In extreme situation (when DST in Australia is on) there is 18 hours of difference between Seth and Steve. Or if you put other way around it is 6 hours only, but different date.

Indeed, a very cosmopolitan game: 6 countries on 5 continents! Nod
