 For helpful replies to posted questions, doing a great job of moderating, and helping out so much on HWF, I hereby promote Micha to Captain.

All moderators (of forums other than private games) receive several hundred additional rank points upon their acceptance of being a moderator.

what is a full list of rankings? This is what I've got so far:

Admiral (Ron)
Captain (I believe that Micha is the only one)
Commander
Lt. Commander
Lieutenant
Lt. Junior Grade
Ensign
Cadet (4 levels)
Petty Officer (3 levels)
Specialist (3 levels)
Crewman (3 levels)



And why cant crewman have avatars Crying or Very Sad ?

There's a full list in the FAQ under "What are these military ranks I see assigned to users?" Notably, there is no "Specialist", and there are 6 ranks for Petty Officers, and "Warrant Officer", among others.

Or did you mean in real life?

Accually, I got most of my list from a posting that Ron put up here in 2002. I didnt have the time to update it, so I just copy/pasted it (with the addition of captain and admiral).
My question should have been "What are the ranks after captain, and what is the highest other than admiral?"
