Not really, for two reasons.

Firstly, out of the 1331 test planets, not all that many fall into this category.
Second, those that do are, by nature, lower value planets. So you are only omitting lower value planets that are having their value lowered further.

Does that sound like a proper way to give credit in my stars! clone?

PS: It being reversed engineered from the binary would explain the odd hexadecimal variable naming and comments in the code.

The general formula was public knowledge, but the formula for an exact calculation was a secret and it was your skills that unlocked it. I certainly feel that you deserve credit for that.

That it is public domain matters not. I still feel you deserve credit.
