Hi, mentioned this before some months back, couldn't get it in solved the mean while Confused
- when I click on the link "Questions about Stars! AutoHost" (for instance) I see all the icons in front of the topics as the folders with a lighting through them, so unread, however the ones I _have_ read still have that icon ...
But when I click on the topic the lightbulbs are off ... Tried all settings of my IE (running winXP) and nothing seem to help ... all topics remain "unread" Sad
Does anyone have an idea?

Another thing I just recently noticed (haven't the time to read the forum for a while) is that in several posts the first two characters are not there!
For instance if the message starts with a smiley than I see:

mg src="images/smiley_icons/icon_razz.gif" border=0 alt="Razz">

Guess <I is missing from the code ...

...
Damn, after looking more carefully seems like some endings are missing too! Confused
...

kind regards,
m

Hm, ok so the first characters disappearing had to do with forum corruption.

But now I'm clueless about what the icon with the folder with lighthing through it stands for ("New Posts" I know, but they stay NEW forever), I thought those icons not changing had something to do with my PC, but now at work I have the same problem ...
So if anybody would be so kind to tell me WHEN such an icon turns into the "No New posts' icon?? Sad TIA.

Kind regards,
mch

If oyu use the 'back' button yur browser may not reload the image... so unless you hit 'refresh' thats my guess since I've had similiar things happen.

Very Happy Well that settles it Micha. Just quit carrying your 'back' button to work with you. Problem solved. Laughing

That would be true for only a short period of time, because when I return to the index of "Questions about Stars! AutoHost" for instance by clicking the appropriate button, or when I'm visiting the site a few days later the thread should have "No New posts" ... but their status is still unchanged ...

Almost no posts have the "No New posts" icon, they stay unread to me ... to my big surprise my first post in this thread is now marked as having no new posts? Why this one and not yours which I am replying to right now? (Checked it with a new browser window) ...
This is all very annyoing, I have to open all thread again and again to see which messages are really new and which ones I have already read. Sad

I just find it very strange that I'm experiencing this on more than one computer ... maybe something wrong with my profile?

kind regards,
mch

Hehe, ok, last time I'm gonna bother you all. Very Happy

I was using this view: "Tree View message and thread listing". As a result I saw things like this:
http://users.pandora.be/ert/stars/forum1.jpg
(Note the icons I have been complaining about, hehe.)

Now I switched to: "Flat thread listing/Tree message listing" which gives a much better result Smile I just didn't know it was there! Very Happy

kind regards,
