Well, I think it's cool. Sad to say, but my fellow candidates seem to be unwilling to make alot of public statements...Thats OK, peace and prosperity only last so long in a universe this size....

Smile All indications point to the sun setting on the era of cooperation in this universe. The POC has clarified the rules, posted potential points for each of the players, dazzled us with a visual display of the universe map, and hinted that he will soon abandon the Presidential Seat.

Nearly 60 years of cooperation has been an achievement in its own right. For sure this era of cooperation is not over even though the POC has set a scenario that demands eventual conflict. Points can only be gathered and votes can only be called by someone taking the Presidential Seat and creating a star base at that location. Will the Presidential seat change from a neutral port to a planet of contention as the POC creates a void by abandoning the PCP as promised at the beginning of the game?

Perhaps, and perhaps not! With the rules of the game, there cannot be a multi-race force located at the Presidential seat. Could the planet be abandoned and remain empty. I seriously doubt that will happen with only forty planets not already settled in the entire universe. Perhaps one of the races with low potential total score right now could take the planet and keep it as a neutral port like the Hong Kong of own planet in years gone by. Perhaps the stronger potential point races will try to take the Presidential Seat planet early to increase their potential point count. If that happened, would the planet remain a neutral port? We all already know that no one can take the Presidential Seat and become president this early in the game.

Yes, I say that the era of politics and conflict is about to begin. Enemies will be chosen and justified over petty mattes. New alliances will be forged to fight and defend. The new era is being dictated by the circumstances. Someone will fire weapons in an aggressive manner. Who will be the one to break the peace? We all know that the current détente will not last forever.

But two more things are true. We are having fun and the end game is an era in the far future!

Laughing Get off Puberty so that you can strip mine it??? It seems so much more logical to put a base on it. I waited for a long time for someone to claim this House Seat, but since no one has, I will add the base.
