I have tried out the race in an actual large/sparse universe and will be sending the files + race to skoormit.

I did my 1st test bed in a small packed universe.. Was quite happy when I crossed 15k by 2450, before I realised we are playing a sparse universe. Had to change my race entirely.

I then tried out large/sparse with 8 other AI players to get a feel of how crowded the universe is going to be.
I did get slightly depressed looking at iztok's and mrvan's messages.

I have verified race submissions for the following players:

sah.humans
iztok
bretter
mrvan
little eddie (used a packed uni when the benchmark was 20k@2450 in a small/packed, way back before it was changed to 10k@2450 in a medium/sparse; in my opinion his result suffices to establish competence, which is the aim of the check)

I need a .xy file from dlrichert in order to open his .m file.

If anyone else believes they have submitted a race check to me, please let me know, because I don't see it.

What we need's a few good taters.

I did do a few med/sparse random tests of my race up to about 2430 and then just hit F9 twenty times, it was good Twisted Evil

Apparently communication has indeed misfired.
My understanding of the race validation was that the race used for the validation check need not be the race used in the game. The point of the validation was just to make sure that the *player* was sufficiently competent with AR to meet a certain production benchmark, so that the game is not unduly unbalanced by the presence of a player unfamiliar with AR submitting a race that can't keep up.
As such, I was not under the impression that I should send the race files to XAPBob.
And on a final note, the host himself has not yet qualified for the game. Though I can't speak to what that delay might be due to.

If all players approve I can do it. I will be a non-playing host. To offer full disclosure I never hosted a game but have played for many years. Will check email daily at least for M-F. As host would make requirement to have all passwords to check players files. I would also like to make a slight revision of schedule.

Med normal uni is about 288 stars - that's 48 stars per player. This amount of stars will soon start demanding quite a lot of MM, but would also give plenty of room (=time) to expand peacefully.

I can go either way: wait a bit if 7th or 8th player would apply/qualify, or start the game with 6 players.
