Okay, the future looks bleak here.

The team I presume to be leading (Rubicons/Traders) has missed two turns in a row, as well as the Nephilim (or whatever the name is).

I'd like to know who is still playing the game and intending to continue. Only 5 of the original 13 players submitted the last two turns - if the three aforementioned players are dropping out, this game looks doomed.

I normally play a game to completion even if it appears hopeless, but this time I have to wonder what's the point when so many have dropped so early in the game. I don't see how even the winner could derive any satisfaction when it's clearly all about which vulture can loot the most carcasses the fastest.

Please, if you are committed to continue playing let me know here. If this game is doomed I want to join another and quit wasting my time on this one.

I am in agreement with Zoid's post. If that many are going to drop out then there is no point in carrying on.

Well personally I want to carry on. The Rubicon Trader alliance is not that strong. Me and my partner have achieved victories and conquests against them. Granted we have also had some loses. The current situation between MY race and the rubicons is them attacking, taking a planet from me and then losing as I retaliate. My partner has been building his strength this whole time and we will soon be in a position to throw BACK the rubicons and trader - if you all stick with the game then you might have fun watching the CA/IT alliance of the Rubicons and Traders getting a taste of their own medicine.

I'm just wondering if anyone has taken as many assaults from the Rubicons and Traders as myself? Yet I have no quit and I have no intention of.

Well, I agree that the game is still worth playing IF the Rubicons and Traders are not dropping out. I'm certainly not saying that the game should be dropped because the Rubicon/Trader alliance is just too strong and cannot be beat. I'm saying that if they're not submitting turns there's not much of a game left. They've missed two in a row now - that's unusual for players at the top who intend to continue.

And as far as I know, NOBODY has quit on account of getting beat up on. Most of the dropouts occurred (probably) before any battles had begun.

If the R/T alliance drops out, that's 7 of the original 13 who've dropped in the first 50 years, and I fear that the remainder of the game is going to be a mere scramble to occupy all the planets of all these dropped players, nothing more. That sounds like a totally different game than what we began. It's already bad enough with 5 dropouts.

I am committed to playing, if that is the consensus. However, if the Rubicon/Traders drop out; the game dynamics will change drastically since I think there will only be two viable partnerships left in the game (from what I've seen). On the other hand, a mad scramble for planets with exploding minefields poppin' up all over the place might be a challenge in itself. Smile
Another idea (also came up in PIT) might be to take the remaining players and start over in a small universe (probably with new races).

I'd be all for starting again in a smaller universe if this game ends as it looks like it might.

So long as I get to keep my partner Smile

Yep, anyone who played in Partners In Time knows what a brilliant player Stardazer is. Quite a catch.

Before Furfuznel decided to play an observer and before partners were assigned I was hoping to get either him or Furfuznel, because of the dialogues I had with both during PIT, which made me wish I was one of their partners then. But the plus side of NOT getting Stardazer as an ally is getting a second chance to prevail against him.

You being paired with him is a double bonus - another chance to beat the victor, and a chance to get even with you for taking my planets in PIT. Not to mention for telling everyone in MDI when I didn't have any guns. And for shooting up my poor little hapless AR starter bases in our duel. Turd! Twisted Evil

(Just kidding, you know I love ya.) Smile

Sherlock Hmmmm? Another chance to beat yourself? Seems to me your partnership was the only one intact and submitting at the end.

And don't tell me you're still upset about my "no scouting" policy in PIT? You did keep my border patrol busy though. 2 Guns

ROFLMAO I DID NOT win that game. Both my race and my partners race were pathetic.

Oooh, cool smiley.
No, I'm not upset about the no-scouting policy. In fact, I liked it so much I adopted it for myself in this game. Razz

My apologioes for not being more active at this time. My baby has just recently been born and I have been rather busy. I will try to pay more attention now. I have posted looking for replacement players and hope to keep this game going. IF that is not possible I would be willing to host a smaller game that some of you seem interested in or I might even consider playing in one if it started after September 25th, and some one else hosted it.

Whew, this game is STALLED! Sad

Hey, I don't know precisely what the problem is, nor do I know how anyone else feels about this, but if the problem is only that ONE of the two players in the Rubicon/Trader alliance has dropped, I'd rather let the remaining player control both races (if he is willing to do so) than have the game fail.

If there is one player in the alliance remaining who is willing to play his own race but can't handle the other, I'd even be fine with the host taking over the other race and playing actively in lieu of his observer race, if that's an option.

I've been enjoying the game and hate to see it end like this (besides, it's the only game of Stars I'm participating in currently and the hold status is killing me!)

Please yes lets get it going again ASAP, as I'd like to start seeing some progress before I have to go into hospital and have my ankle fused. Sad

But then again I'll have 8 weeks in plaster after that to do what I like. Rolling Eyes

Okay, I have not had any offers from anyone indicating that they would be interested in playing as a replacement player in this game. I will be sending out an e-mail to a few people that I know to see if they would be willing to step in and play. I will get the game going again by no later than thursday this week. Sorry for the delay.
