I just got windows XP. Despite having a few problems with my really old dos games and stars briefly it's wonderful. I've heard wonderful things about linux systems but for the time being (I'm in the clutches of microsoft aint I?) I'm happy with whats familiar. I mean once I turned off all the cartoon style graphics WinXP just looks like windows 2000 - only it works.

It's the little things in XP that make it so wonderful. All those sweet little touches. Like when I plug in my digicam it detects and has a nice selection of options for me to pick from as to what to do with my pics.
Also if you turn off all the graphical poop it stops looking like Fisher Price's "My First OS" and more like windows 2000 / NT

Theres a little child in all of us. WinXP is like the OS version of simpsons. It looks like a kiddy show but there all the bits for adults in there.

I have had some problems with xp but only with starting and shutting down dos legacy programs. Only a few blue screens.
I have even gotten my old copy of Master of Orion to run with sound support. Master of Magic still has no sound. LOL but better than 98. I couldn't get MOM to run at all.
Boy, I had a hard choice, but finally choose Windows. I like unix/linux though as a close second.
