Hi Guys,

(yeah, I know its been ages since I've posted here Smile

For the last few years that I was running Stars! I was running it on a 386/686 machine in wine and I never had a problem using the Windows not an emulator... however, now I am retired and have a pi4 which has rpi ubuntu Raspbian GNU/Linux 10.

Doing an install of wine from the basic apps doesn't work. But, I discovered Box86 which works fine for installing wine ...

This install runs Mimosa for Windows which is my scheduling software perfectly well. However when I try to run stars! it come back with an error...

Unfortunately there is no debugger in Box86... I did push wavmix.dll into the windows directory which had no effect.

My questions are:
Has anybody gotten stars! running using Box86???
If not,..
Has anybody run stars! on a pi? How???

I'd say you'll likely get more support about running Stars! from Pi forums. If that's a hobby project for you, go ahead. Just don't forget you can get a cheap portable where you can run Stars! in native mode. Wink

Have you tried doing it through DOSBox + Windows 3.11?

You could bootstrap it with one of my images (as a sub-folder) that already has Win 3.11 and Stars! installed. It is found here:

I dug into your stuff... although its for windows it gave some clues to setting it up on the pi...
1) dosbox is installable and I actually already had it installed
2) just fiddled around with your conf and batch script

Now I have my old directory working Smile

Just cleaning up my attic now Smile
