Hi, I'm new here and have just figured out how to run Stars! again. Right now I am running 2.70. My question is are the patches incremental or can I just patch with 2.70i? It's been a lot of years and I can't remember.

Why would I want 2.6jrc4 when I already have 2.7? I have 2.70i and all the previous patches. I just need to know if I can go to 2.70i directly without installing the preceding patches.

See here the difference between versions:

https://wiki.starsautohost.org/wiki/Patches_and_versions#2.6 _vs_2.7

Basically, 2.6 and 2.7 are parallel versions with 2.7 having sound effects. So the last letter is what is important, the 'j4'.
