 All the Simple Races

Summary: A no-comms game with race design restrictions that prevent QS races and HP monsters and other frightening things.

6-8 players
-Medium / Dense / Distant
-Acc BBS

Race design restrictions:
--No immunities.
--No more than two clicks on any single setting on the production/factories/mines page.
--AR can make no more than one click to their "Annual Resources" setting.
--CA must be max-width on all 3 hab ranges (I dare you, XAPBob Smile ).
--JoaT can't take NAS or OBRM.

Special gameplay rules:
--No communication allowed between players. All silence, all the time.
--Single victor only, either by unanimous vote or by victory condition.

Victory conditions:
--Own 50% of all planets
--Achieve tech 22 in 6 fields.
--Exceed second place score by 100%
--Winner must meet 1
--At least 50 years must pass

Standard cheat disclaimer
--Chaff allowed
--Split-fleet dodge allowed
--Heal after gating allowed
--Everything else under the "Player Exploitable Bugs" section of the Known Bugs list is cheating

Schedule
--Every 26 hours until at least 2420.
--Thereafter (as soon as someone requests a slowdown), every 50 hours
--Will extend deadlines on request as needed for holidays/travel/other IRL nuisances.

Note: I am playing, and I would prefer if someone not playing would host. I will gladly host a game for you if you will host this game for me. Please PM me if you want me to owe you such a favor. Smile

Thank you for the offer. To be clear, I'm looking for someone to perform full hosting duties, not just initial game setup.

This means, of course, usually not much. Mostly just responding to player requests for deadline extensions. Maybe check in with a player that has missed a turn and is close to missing another, to ask if a replacement player should be found. And the occasional game hiccups always seem to happen, and the host needs to respond to those.

If that is more than you would like to take on, no worries. I'll take you up on the game setup duties if no one else offers to host.

Just checked on the default race (just changed to CA) that hab costs.... 563 points
It also reduces the power of the TF (which is a good side-effect in the context of the game)

To me, that's looking like overkill - particularly with the limited places that are available to claw back that cost.
Trying to avoid being 12% growth AND -T is "interesting".

 All interested players, please note:

Asmodai and Loucipher are brothers. They do not live together.

If you are not comfortable trusting them to play strictly by the no-comms rules and avoid all talk of this game with each other, even incidental talk, please let me know. I'll gladly host a second game with the same ruleset.

Also, just to be clear, players should not discuss with each other prior to the game their intended race designs and planned strategy. General discussions about the feasibility of different designs and strategies is fine. But I would consider it cheating if one player were to tell another what kind of race they were going to play or what specific strategy they planned to use.

Of course, we all know Tomasoid is pulling our leg about trying to avoid MM, and that he is going to play SD. Laughing

I have already had a couple of bad experiences with cheating in my limited stars experience. I do not see how two brothers who play the same game cannot talk about a game they are both playing.

Please note i'm not accusing Asmodai and Loucipher of cheating but it would be neigh impossible for them to talk to each other without imparting information even if they didn't mean it.

I understand your concern.

I'm not going to present an argument for or against the situation. Each player can decide if they are comfortable.

Again, I'm more than happy to host a second game. We've had sufficient response in the short time since I posted the game that I think a second game would fill up as well.

Not an issue.
Just one small request if I'm checking regular turns, don't password your race/game files... though Neil did give me an easy way of using /bat files to mass open all turns in one click, it's still a pain x.x
