What is underneath AH - is it a windows server?
Does the -t option do what we would want (with respect to having the "saved, not submitted" turns there in case) - the return code of 1 could trigger an email to the relevant parties.
Then at the death run with the -g option.

Of course I don't have access to the source, so this might be a step too far.

Hi ,

maybe you go one this wronge. Submit your turn as the first player !

So if you find out that you have done a mistake you still have time to change your turn and resubmit.

If you are one of this people doing there tuns in the last minutes/seconds you should be sure you are finished.

Any chnage to Stars Autohost with a "hold button " for players or any think else mentioned here would massive slow down the

game.

I'm scripting up my client to submit when I "save and submit" OR 1 minute before the expiry (even if the x file is still only "save"d, so I at least get a partial turn in.

Normally that will have the main orders done, but not the fine tuning.

One minute before expiry might not be enough, I have observed that Autohost's clock can be several minutes wrong.

On the other hand, I don't remember seeing Autohost's clock running early, I only remember seeing it running late. If Autohost's clock never runs early, only sometimes runs late, then one minute before the listed deadline would be safe.

That's generally a display lag, from what I've seen.. The page freezes and stops updating the correct time. In my experience, it happens when too many uploads happen in a short time and the page stops autoupdating for a bit.

The gen, however, seems to happen fine at whatever the allocated time is fixed at.

I doubt such a display lag can account for Autohost being several minutes late for months at a time.

Also, there have been times where I have submitted as the last player, and Autohost then listed the time the new turn was generated as several minutes before I submitted, even though my turn was included.

Ok, so I rush a turn, then the turn gets extended. Now my next play window is close to the new deadline.

I almost certainly won't be able to use that because the turn will generate when everyone else subs...
