Does anyone have an app that will strip an attachment out of a MS Outlook message and save that attachment in a specified directory on your harddrive.

I am thinking along the lines of a host receiving x file attachments via emails, and have the app (per above) save the x file in the related game directory.

http://art.lathrop.com/stars/download.htm and look for (or use the find command in IE) "Speedsend"

It's a macro for outlook that sounds like it'll do exactly what you want.

Thanks for the reply.
But looking at the speedsend help file, it will automate the sending of the turn files (game.m files) to the respective players.

I was hoping to find a utility that will assist in receiving the game.x files, placing these files into the Stars game folder so the turn can be generated. i.e. eliminate the manual step of opening the mail and dragging the files to the appropriate directory.

To be honest, I did not know I could.
I will try it out today and see if it works.

I have tried the 'rules' options, but that does not allow moving the attachment to a folder on your HD. You can move the message (and attachment) to an outlook folder, but that is different.

Warp Central will not pull in the players x file from your email program.

That should work better, thanks. Hmm his growth manager has told me the obvious... some of my planets are in a horrible lack of population and the others abound... Sloppy play on my part.
