Hey everyone! I'm back, I've got stars working again, and I'm ready for a new game if anyone's interested! Don't really mind what, I'm up for anything (I'm fairly nooby though) so if you post a new game announcement, I'm sure to join!

IIRC new games are thin on the ground at this time of year.

You may have more luck getting a duel.

If you wish, I can offer up my services, but I won't be at my best as I have other games to play.

I'd suggest small, normal so that you can practise pop-management and building up an empire with a nasty as your neighbour.

You might also consider 3 options over 3 games:

1. Normal start
2. 50 year gen and then start
3. 1000 turn gen and then start

More tech options to play with: 2 and 3 give you low-mid and max(ish?) tech to play with.

I wouldn't be concerned with playing games out to a finish. We could stop whenever you feel you have what you need out of a game and you are also free to whip my proverbial butt.

I'd also suggest duelling via a dropbox account or equivalent. That way it's easier to keep pushing the game ahead. We effectively both host the game so that if you are last to submit you can gen the next turn. You just have to make sure to save rather than submit your turn if you still want to tinker with it.

Ok thanks for the offer! I think it unlikely that I will "whip your proverbial butt" any time soon, true I have been playing the shareware game for over 10 years, but I only discovered this site in the last couple, so have had no real experience against human opponents, or end-game experience.

Having said that, there's no need to "go easy" on me, I play the game to improve, not necessarily to win.

Small normal sounds good, are we imposing any other rules vis-a-vis race selection? Also do you have a suitable dropbox account, or would you like me to make one?

Just going to throw this out there - it looks like Goober, Sprocket and I will be playing a friendly little game to get Sprocket and I back into the swing of things. The game will probably be distributed via dropbox unless anyone has any major complaints about that. Feel free to PM me and join us if you feel the need to shake the rust off.
Game will be set up very soon so please respond ASAP if you're interested!

I might be interested in a quick friendly game just to keep me from rusting out.

However, what is Dropbox?

Hi there!

Goober and I have started a duel, and also a game called Reanimation with various noob/rusty players.

If you like though I'll have a game with you too Very Happy I'm very rusty, only just having got stars working on my Win 7 laptop, and also while having been playing this game since the age of 10 am fairly new to the multiplayer (I've been playing AI up until recently)

Dropbox is a program that allows you to sync folders on your computer with online storage. Anything you put into the folder is uploaded and stored. However this is taken further as you are able to share folders with others, so any changes you make to the folder on your PC are pushed around to anyone sharing, meaning you can play games as though you were both submitting turns from the same machine.

Interested? If so, PM me and we'll get a game going Very Happy

Could a mod please lock this topic? I think there's an upper limit on the number of games I can play at once xD
