Every time I try to post something on this forum; send a pm, etc, my browser redirects me to a Bad Request: 400 error page (even though the action was successfully completed). Is this just me?

I can't quite answer that question. I can say it doesn't happen to me, though. The site works fine.

Cheers,
Void

Please detail Browser, Operating System, and security settings such as Cookies enabled or not, so we can have a slight idea of what might be happening. Sherlock

Based on similar problems with similar software as these Forums use, I'd guess it could be something related to the URL strings not being accurately passed along. Unusual, but possible. Confused

I'm using Firefox 6.0.2. I'm set to allow cookies, and I'm running Windows 7.

Up until about a year ago I was a professional web designer and webmaster (I still volunteer for several non-profits) and I'm currently an admin of a forum, so I pretty well know the major things that could be causing this, and I've checked everything I can think of at the moment on my side. Of course, let me know if you have any ideas as to what it might be.

I am surprised that I'm the only one that's ever experienced this... Maybe I'm not...

Hmmm, these are more modern versions of FF and Win than I'm using. Rolling Eyes

You should perhaps check FF or Win support. Work at computer

Also, does it happen with all the URLs you try? Or just with some? If so, which ones? Sherlock

This happens after every time I post a reply in the forum, start a new thread, or send a PM. The action completes successfully; just the redirect afterwards gives me that error message.

So there's really no harm done; it's just annoying.

Maybe you are using a firefox add on that's messing something up.

Unfortunately that is the only theory I could come up with.

I'd guess its an addon that you've installed in Firefox, or that you're infected with some malware.

I'm not sure this will help ya but I saw it pop up with new versions of FF on another board so I'll post it here in case it does help you:
Quote:

It's a known "bug" that actually came with Firefox 4.
It's basically that the browser keeps feeding you the cached page rather then to get the actual page.

In order to "fix" this you need to disable http caching.

Go To about:config
(type it where you type in web addresses)

Then search for:
network.http.use-cache

And set it to False.
Now press (ctrl+)F5 or restart your browser and FireFox should be showing you pages AS THEY ARE.
(and not anymore as they were)

Hmm... interesting fix, but http caching is very useful and I don't think I'll be disabling that any time soon.

Thanks for the explanation, though.

You know, caching can be turned off through the .htaccess file for individual pages - that would be the proper solution from a design point of view, I would think.
