 Also, secondary question: why does it look like I referred someone who I have not even known existence before realizing I supposedly already referred someone?

 So, if I get this right... I gave the link to someone for this forum and they registered directly from it?

I'm not sure I understand how the forum can actually find out how that works. How can the code know I'm the one who referred the guy out? I would assume I'd need to paste some special code for that to work, which I am 100% I never did.
