News from the Front, Alien Invasion of Fighter Space
Geraldo , our intrepid reporter, has managed to get a source deep within the Fighter Allied Command Troika (FACT). This source, while needing to protect his identity, will be called by moniker Deep Internal Policy Spy for Hire and Investigation of Things (Dip####).
Reports of great happening this past year can now be printed. It seems that the wars with Things does not go as badly as previous rumors have suggested. Dip#### reports that there was a major battle this past year at Equuleus, a planet deep within Fighter space. There were heavy losses on both sides of the battle. Fighter advanced design warships managed to intercept Things troop transports and their DD escorts. The resultant loss of the troop transports has halted, temporarily, the incursion into Fighter space by the Things of reinforcements to the planet. "A second wave of attacks on Equuleus is expected this coming year!" reports Dip####.
In news from another area, it was reported today by the ministry of information, FACT has reported the sighting of Alien scouts within the Center Core of the Galaxy. Sighting of Things and Coalition forces have been made.
"What are their intentions?" is what this reporter would like to know.
Stay tuned for more updates on the uncovering stories of "As the Galaxy Turns".

Battle for Equuleus Area Continues in 2423
Geraldo here with an update on the major battles along the eastern front between the Fighters and the Things. Our intrepid uncover spy, Dip####, has exciting news to bring us all up to date on the current situation.
Dip#### reports that there have been a number of battles between the good guys, Fighters, and the Things. Overall both sides have suffered about equal losses. The Things remain in control of Equuleus but the Fighters have taken control of 2 planets within the area, Sol and Baggy. At this point the Things have only one DD in the area and the Fighters have 15. It would seem, rather easy to take Equuleus. The crafty Things have a very strong Orbital Fort on Equuleus that has defeated every attempt to destroy it.
In news on another front, the center seems to be heating up with the sightings of 2 new races. Scouts from both the Weirdos and the Fallen Angels of the UKA have been sighted.

News from the Front, Alien Invasion Advances, Planets Lost
Geraldo here with grave news from the Eastern Front. News has been hard to get recently due to stunning events. FACT (Fighter Allied Command Troika) has refused to answer questions. There has also been great madness at Fighter Starbases as warships returned, all shot full of holes if they returned at all, and massive new production has started with unprecedentedly numbers of new warships being produced in very short time periods all across the sector.
Dip####, our Deep Internal Policy Spy for Hire and Investigation of Things, has just returned after being captured by the Things. He managed to escape after heroic events that can now be related.
Dip####: "It was absolutely horrible. The Things are not like us at all. They have horribly grotesque bodies with multiple arms, legs, a detachable feeding stomach, and worst a very large head with multiple sets of eyes. I was so horror struck, that I froze, giving them time to capture me."
Geraldo: "But what were you doing in Thing space?"
Dip####: "I was on a very secret mission for FACT. Several battles lately have been lost due to new strange technologies that the Things possess. My job was to try to discover what I could about these technologies to try to give our scientists an opportunity to research something to remove their advantages."
Geraldo: "NEW TECHNOLOGIES??? What sorts of technologies do the enemy have that we don't?"
Dip####: "As best as I could find out, they can do a number of things that the Fighters can not. We very early noticed that the Things seem to be able to see great distances through space but they can also see ships in orbit of planets!!!"
Geraldo: "Ships in orbit of planets? How can this be? We have no such technology, it does not exist, you must be sipping a bit of that Quixote Fun Juice, I suspect!"
Dip####: "No it is true, they can see ships in orbit. What is worse they can move ships between planets without going through deep space and they have very efficient mine layers, able to lay mines while moving!"
Geraldo: "This is very disturbing! How can we possibly fight such a technologically advanced race?"
Dip####: "Well, it won't be easy but my sources say we have a crash research program in place that is trying to discover the secrets that the Things are using to defeat the Noble Fighters!"
Geraldo: "I sure hope you are right about this and that the research program gets proper funding. By the way how did you escape from the Things?
Dip####: "I was on the planet Baggy when the bastards attacked and killed all the colonists. I managed to escape capture and hid out until a Fighter scout came to check on the planet. They rescued me. The planet Luscious endured the same fate but in this case the Things have stayed to colonize."
Geraldo: "Well, there you have it, a first person account of Thing atrocities from Dip####. Stay tuned to this network for more information when it happens, as it happens, the way it happens. Until next time, I remain
