Stars Supernova: Genesis - Has the NDA ran out?

Hi all,

Wasn't sure where to post this. Basically I remember that we had a few of the Stars! community betatest Stars Supernova, but in doing so had to sign an NDA.

Has the NDA ran out? If not will it run out in the near future?

If yes, can we get access to the beta software of Stars Supernova to play? Would there be any legal problems in doing?

The game was never released (as far as I know) and I've no idea if it'll be legal for us to play the game - I don't believe it was ever released or who owns the rights.

If the NDA is anything like the ones EA Mythic use the don't run out till either the game is released, or the rights to develop the title have run out which the company can either wave publicly or 25 years have passed with a renewal of develop registration, at which point the code can either be purchased by any authers with copy/protection rights. Failing any of this happening the product would then become public for anyone to puchase and release. Most companies however will pay the 150 dollars or so to exstend any unreleased until the max 125 year protection limit simply for the fact that it was their time used to develop what was cancelled and they may some day go back to it.

OTOH, the company went to pieces, didn't it? And the Jeffs even authorised Ron to keep giving out serial codes to people.
