In the race wizard it says IS heals faster than other races. The tests I've done indicate it heals twice as fast. I'm not sure it that's true, can someone tell me what the heal speed of an IS---is?

I suspect that your test would be true at double the heal rate. Nowhere in any of the information I have is the actual advantage listed. It isn't that hard to test but I don't have time to do such a test currently.

Though we often ask how and why, we must also do to get the answers to the questions.

IS ships repair at 2x the listed rate, but the bonus for FX or SFX is not doubled. At a base with a SFX, that's 50% a year. Moving in space without a FX or SFX, that's 2% (vs 1% for other races).

Combat will stop all repair for that year, and if some one wants to keep your ships from repairing, they can ping nearby bases with chaff.

Gating a fleet will also stop all repairs, however, if the fleet merges with another fleet, the repair will depend on the setting of the fleet you merge into. I consider this a minor exploit of a bug, but not everyone agrees.

I don't think the rate for starbase repair is doubled, but I'm not sure about that.

That agrees with what I've seen. I was wondering about the FX and SFX though. And I don't know either about the starbase, seems it'd do double as well.

50% with a SFX is doubled starbase repair, is it not?

Having realised in the interim that this referred to the rate of repair of a starbase, rather than repair of ships at a starbase, and having recently gotten my first actual look at the Stars! help file via Starswine, I can note that the help file says that it's 10% for normal races and 15% for Inner-Strength.
