Hi Guys,

now that every day someone skips the turn,
I thought it might be a better idea, to
generate the turns at a fixed time.

I prefer to get the new turn in the morning,
that means, generation of turn between
10pm and 8am (GMT).

Perhaps it would even do it, if we set back
the maximum time till forced generation
to 24 hours.

When the turn generation is during my
working time, I just look too often,
wether everbody has checked in. Confused

How do you think about it ?

greetings, Magnus

1) i "hate" fixed times Sad in my opinion it slows donw the game and you will never find a time that is ok for all the players. as there are about 24 timezones on this little ball of dirt.

2) 24h turn gen - with less time there will be even less time for diplomatic talk and i realy like to do that.

to sum it all up:

stick with 27h

I prefer fixed gen, as it means no weekend gen (if I am lucky)

GMT :: CET :: PST :: EST ........

i'm from germany and i don't like a fixed turn time in the space of GMT 23-10. and for shure there are any out there who love this kind of turn gen.

There is a reason that you give the turn shedule during game announcement so that people like me can right at the start kick fixed time games and no weekend games. (as i don't like that games)

Anyone willing to consider a switch to a duration of 48 hours?

The game would still generate as soon as all turn files are submitted and the lengthened duration would ensure that nobody gets caught short as a result of a turn generation at an awkward time of day.

While daily turns are not necessarily unmanageable yet, diplomacy and coordination are starting to get rushed (at least for me).

And the extended turn duration would make those RL distractions easier to sweep under the rug... err... deal with. Smile

How about taking small steps ? going from 27h -> 36h and if we need more time we go to 44h or 48 ?

36 hours seems like a good idea to me.

Anyone else?

I agree. 36 hours/no fixed sounds about right to me. 48 is a bit too long.
