Hello here's my ideas for making a MOD
Each race has to have a strong chances to survive and excel.
Like what's the point of having special gadgets and stuff if they become obsolete at later stages of game. Better each race have their tools that really make differences.

Ok if you got a StarEd Go see this MOD and think about. Each race has their own venues...
But then the hole thing without being able to mod the guts of Stars like primary racial traits and lesser ones as well is not really complete. Gosh that game could be so much more if there only would be such a program. Sad I can't program myself.

I wouldn't say that gadgets that become obselete are pointless... Prime examples are croby, fuel xport, chameleon scanner - items that are near useless in mid-late game, but are awesome in the early game.
But yeah, I do agree with you in that it'd be nice if there were more PRT specific items still usefull in late game.

Remove the Nubian or replace it with one or more less flexible designs and the PRT-specific parts will have more late-game effect.

Make the PP drivers essentially free and lower tech? That still doesn't help them much - I think they need a modification to the guts so that the damage and terraform chance from packets increases with technology. Perhaps have the terraform chance increase separately for each variable along the appropriate research field, and have the damage dealt by packets increase with Biotech. Consequently this could make TT nicer for a PP. Perhaps let their minefields have a chance at destroying enemy packets - this is not a big thing but it's kinda cool.
I think someone had an idea for letting PP massdrivers collect a small amount of minerals each year from orbit. That could be useful.

Another option is to give them "ship based massdrivers" that fit in bomb slots and can somehow fling mineral cargoes at planets to deal bombing damage.

WM has good item even in late game, I think... 0.5 battle speed bonus... On beam Nubian this means you don't need to spend a slot on jets. This is a comparable benefit that the HE has with flux capacitor. DN continues to be somewhat usefull in late game.
IT continues to be the only race that can gate missiles at will (others will often need to overgate still.)
SS I would say is still strong. Robber Baron is still unique, even if cloaking becomes somewhat accessible to all.
PP... Well, yeah... I guess it forces your opponents to max out their defences everywhere, but that's about it...
But yes, I think it is very boring that some PRTs advantages essentially become the same in late game - just a single slot saving on Nubians.
Of course, that flexibility is also the reason you go to con26 for Nubians

What the PP needs is a ship mounted mass driver - like the jump gate.

If each race would be able to develop their gadgets and such instead of having a fixed set of stuff only on one tech level.. that would be cool.
but yeah the original stars is way too limited. it's an interestign game nevertheless but Mare Crisium would still be alive if they'd be more openminded.
Making a game so that each player could design their own gadgets and keep improving them. No one IS or SS race would have the gadgets with same values of efficiency. As each person would decide how they spend resources to research and what areas they research. A game with special gadgets that they came to because of their concentration and spending of resources in certain areas(and another IS would not have theat special thing because it chose to go on a different direction)
