Hi everyone,

I plan to host a new game for intermediates and beginners with some experience. With slow tech advance and no accelerated BBS this will probably be a long haul - so please only respond if you are willing to commit yourself for a longer time.

Hosting:
Hosted on AutoHost
Host will be playing

Players:
8-10 players would be ideal - depends on feedback
intermediate level (or beginners with some experience playing against humans)

Turn generation:
24 hours for first 25 years
48 hours for next 25 years
72 hours for remainder

Accelerated start:
1st turn: 5 years generated at once
2nd turn: 4 years generated at once
3rd turn: 3 years generated at once
4th turn: 2 years generated at once
5th turn and later: 1 year generated

Settings:
Large/Sparse/Distant
Slow tech advance
Public player scores
No Accelerated BBS

PRT/LRT restrictions:
CA must not have TT AND must have 200 leftover points
JOAT must not have NAS OR must have 100 leftover points
IT must have 50 leftover points (this is due to the galaxy settings)

Victory/Alliances:
Last man standing or unanimous vote of all active leftover players
Only one player can win
Alliances are allowed, but an alliance cannot win
No pre-game alliances

Cheats:
Chaff and split fleet are allowed.
Anything else is forbidden ;)

I'd like to encourage roleplaying and diversity. So, if possible, give your race a distinct "character" (without giving up the strategic essentials of the game).

Contact:
If you are interested then drop me an e-mail (timo5316ATwebDOTde). As soon as I have got enough
feedback I will ask for race files.

- Timo

Hi Timo,

you wrote twice, that there will be no accelerated BBS. Then you write, that the first 14 years will be played by accelerated turns. How shall I understand this?

If accelerated, I think, that 5 or 4 years at once for the first turns are a little bit too much. Three years in turn one and two and two years in turn three should be enough.

Could a smaller universe (medium size) fit as well?

cu, Taka Tuka

No accelerated BBS means that the AccBBS option in the game settings is not checked. Choosing this option increases startup pop, surface minerals, and mineral concentration. I prefer to shorten the startup phase manually by generating a couple of years at once. This won't have an impact on minerals and does not cut off the very first phase of the game which can be interesting (IMO).

This issue can be discussed as soon as we have enough players.

Maybe, it can be changed if the majority wants it or the number of players is low. But remember, it's a sparse universe. I don't have the numbers in mind, but I guess that a large/sparse equals a medium/normal wrt number of planets.

384 in large sparse, 288 in medium normal so close but bit more.
