Greetings all I have a dilemma. I have agreed to take over a race in a game hosted on AH, but when I try to open the m file I get the following message:-
"The File BlaBla.M4 does not belong to this version of stars!"
I am using jcr4 and am in other games on AH which I can open, any help appreciated.

After doing a quick test, I got the same message trying to open a jrc4 .m file with 2.6i. Opening a 2.6i .m file with jrc4 worked fine.

Try opening the file with JRC3. JRC4 changes were on the host side of things and is what AH uses.

Hmm... could you be more specific about which game? If no other solution presents itself, I can check the headers which describe the version number, and/or see if there's something more fundamentally wrong with the file..
I guess you've already tried re-downloading the M *and XY* files?
JRC3/4 has been used on AH for a long time now, I can't really imagine that there are any older games *still* running?

Can you guys PM the file to me? I'll need the .xy also. I'll see whether I can get anything to open it.

Turned out to be a download program problem, uninstalled it and redownloaded the m file. All working fine now.
Thanks to those that helped.
