I seem to have joined a game that generates during the week when I have limited time, and goes to sleep over the weekend, when I have loads of time, and want to play...

Would people be interested in a game that plays 7 turns/week, but skewed towards the weekend?
Say gens midday and midnight on saturday and sunday, one midday tuesday, one midday thursday, and one late friday - the intention is to play a turn in both the morning and afternoon on both weekend days, and 3 turns during the rest of the week, nominally monday, wednesday, friday, but with more than 24h for each turn.

When the MM starts to take it's toll, maybe a schedule like midday tuesday, midday thursday, midnight saturday would be a good idea - the intention being that more 'weekday' oriented people play m/w/f, and 'weekend' people play su/w/sa.

Thoughts anyone?

AH can't do that schedule I'm pretty sure (fixed is one per day, setting # of hours doesn't allow variation).

Been a while since I've hosted, but can't the game host change the schedule and/or force a gen whenever he wants to?

Yes. That's why the host has the keys to the kingdom. Just wanted to make certain people understand that special schedules are possible. An inexperienced or newcomer might misunderstand your message, thinking that it is not possible to have a special schedule using AutoHost.

You can't get the 12hr turn over on weekends that you want...but this might work for you..

0000 mon
1600 tues
nogen wed
0800 thur
2400 fri
1600 sat
0800 sun

This give a turnover of 40hrs during the week (3 turns) and 16hrs of weekends (3 turns)

IIRC last time I hosted a game, fixed time gens were a planned feature to be implemented soon, so I didn't realise there was a limit of one per calendar day...

16h over the weekend (using both 0000h and 2400h - crafty Smile ) is a good thought, but the middle generation does kinda line up with the middle of the night for Europe. Of course, 12h gens may need careful timing with other regions too...

Anyway, never mind about whether Autohost supports this or not for now - would any potential players even be interested? Or would a more conventional 24h per gen (then drop to the more weekend play permitting version of the 3 gen per week schedule when things get timeconsuming) be better?

I wasn't sure you could use 0000 and 2400 so I checked, you can't..so it'd be 0000 and 2300
