Traffic Jam
Go west or go north.
But don't go east or south. Because you can't.
A new plague has infected the galaxy.
Somehow all steering systems have lost it. You might say: They've mostly turned against us.
This plague's symptoms seem to change with each year, so we will keep travel updates posted. For 2421 only north and west travel is possible.
Luckily the universe is round, so you can just continue to travel in the same direction and eventually wind up in the same place. Not!
Yes really, you will. It's been proven by Einstein and someone else. Not!
Yes it has. Really it has. Not!
Just kidding. It has. Really. No, really it has. Not!
In the meantime our scientists are working on the problem. We should have an answer in a few years. Five years at the latest. At the moment, counter electromagnetic inductive reactance enhanced guidance systems look promising.
But do continue to travel north or west safely.
You ask what will happen if I move the wrong way? We aren't certain but it ain't looking good, and it ain't a good idea to try.
Nasty,
the Plague Master

Do you mean that ships can only travel in the 270 degrees to 360 degrees angle and no ship at all can travel between 0 and 270 degrees what-so-ever?

This is why the plague spreads so rapidly and is so hard to contain. I said what I meant and I meant what I said.
Ships are only permitted to go north, west, northwest, northnorthwest, westnorthwest, etc. Any and all directions including S and/or E are dangerous. Colonist can go anywhere ,but just not ships.
I wouldn't worry about it. If you go the wrong way just bad things will happen, that's all.
This is a nasty job. I love this galaxy.

the Plague Master

What about ships using stargates? Since no manouvering is involved is the gating of ships allowed?

Ah yes, the sweet advantages of being an underdeveloped race! I left my empire in the hands of the fates for a while and the plagues have not affected me... much! Thank goodness my two scouts had not been given orders to do anything while I was away.
Now that I have returned I would like to formally announce that we, the Shadallstorms, are open to negotiating trades of planets, ships, technology, minerals, intelligence, and even plagues if anyone is interested. I have the feeling that if any of us are to survive to the point that we can decimate each other, that we may need to do some business here in the early epoc. Feel free to contact me in-game, by pm, or at tjl128-at-mail.usask.ca (-at- = @).
